General Purpose Serves as a lead specialist for the Wildfire Intelligence Center team, monitoring wildfires and other hazards for threats against company assets. Providing rotational on-duty coordination for serious incidents and emergency response, training, and escalating situational intelligence to other specialized groups and executives within PacifiCorp's service territory. Located in a watch center based in Medford, Oregon. Work is often performed during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to provide 24/7 coverage.
Responsibilities - Monitor situations throughout the service territory utilizing tools to analyze spatial and non-spatial information and report on all fires or hazards having potential to affect, PacifiCorp electric infrastructure and non-electric facilities.
- Provide training and development for Operational Response Specialists.
- Provides shift oversight for Operational Response Specialists while reporting to a Wildfire Intelligence Operations Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Uses wildfire experience to guide decisions based on data from Operational Response Specialists to provide actionable response to wildfire threats that may impact electric utility assets.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with wildfire and emergency dispatch agencies throughout the service territory.
- Provide urgent and timely incident information to PacifiCorp leadership and organizations, including System Operations, Transmission, Distribution, Generation and Emergency Management or the Emergency Coordination Center.
- Provide support to programs such as Emergency Coordination Center (ECC), Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program support and others as assigned.
- Ensures development and tracking of the best tools available to collect, manage, analyze, model, and present situational information pertinent to emerging or active wildfires and emergency events while researching new and innovative ways to monitor and report those events.
- Analyzes Wildfire Intelligence Center intelligence products for accuracy.
- Ensures documentation and maintains records for all events and actions taken via company tools, tracking forms, executive reports, and others as developed.
Requirements - 5 years of experience as a paid firefighter.
- Valid driver's license.
- Bachelor's Degree in applicable field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to establish objectives, decision making, and the ability to oversee multiple projects, operations, and functions.
- Necessary skills to support the development or implementation of a system, program, or process.
- 24/7 availability to support emergencies and disasters.
- Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet (Excel), word processing (Word), and presentation applications (Power Point) to compile, maintain, and present information.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferences - Advanced Degree.
- Experience and education/knowledge in wildland firefighting is preferred.
- 10 years of experience responding to and managing emergencies/incidents for public agency, utility, or first responder organization (fire suppression, fire behavior, and wildland fire tactics, strategy and safety experience preferred).
- Completion of ICS-100-300, IS-700, IS-800, and the FEMA Professional Development Series.
- Incident Command System (ICS) Certifications preferred: IC, OSC, PSC, LOFR, SOF, and Agency Representative.
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) certification from the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
- ESRI ArcGIS mapping experience.
- Knowledge of company's strategic plan, objectives for specific area, as well as company policies, procedures, and practices and federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.

This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance incentive bonus of up to 15.00% of salary.
