JOB SUMMARY: Manages all activities related to the distribution center's warehousing operations, including inventory management, ensuring that QCD and GSF objectives for efficiency, economy, quality and productivity are met or exceeded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Plans, implements and monitors the day-to-day operations for the DC's warehousing function, including analyzing operating data and reports, determining manpower needs and monitoring adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded. (25%)
- Manages assigned staff, including involvement in the recruitment and selection process of new employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. (25%)
- Periodically audits operational procedures and programs related to shipping and receiving and implements necessary improvements to achieve expectations for availability, storage, sanitation and security of inventory. (20%)
- Develops, audits and controls department budget and ensures that operational costs are within plan. Manages the purchase and/or leasing and maintenance of all material handling equipment to achieve safety, longevity and efficiency objectives. (10%)
- Ensures compliance with all customer, governmental and Company directives and policies and ensures the preparation and distribution of all relevant reports and quality analyses summaries. (10%)
- Communicates with Division management and employees and provides relevant reports and analyses to ensure appropriate decision-making. Conducts analyses on special project assignments. (10%)
- Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.
LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY Supervises, through subordinate management, approximately 45-50 associates, including hourly staff. Manages projects with significant financial and strategic impact. May manage various external vendors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification: Bachelors' degree in business administration or related field from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: 7 years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations involving multi-temperature environment with receiving, inventory control and shipping and 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
Food service experience a plus.

Skill and ability to: - Serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as the team role warrants
- Lead a diverse workforce of approximately 50 employees in a 24 hour/7 day per week operation
- Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment
- Interpret warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
- Prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reports
- Prepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, regulatory agencies and other representatives of external organizations
- Assist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent forms
- Use various logistics and analytical PC-based software programs
- Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
- Travel via airplane and drive an automobile
- Act in accordance with GSF's Values and Creed
The Schedule & Setting:
- Full-time, on-site management role in a temperature-controlled warehouse
- Supports a 24/7 operation with flexibility required for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Leads a large-scale warehouse team focused on safety, reliability, and service
