Overview:
Working within the NCI Operations department and reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Clerk is responsible for assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, unloading and loading trucks, fulfilling job orders, and keeping the warehouse stocked with essential equipment. The Warehouse Clerk also supports daily plant operations to ensure safety and efficiency in compliance with safety and environmental standards
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Accurately and efficiently sorts, counts and verifies incoming inventory on as-needed basis and as part of general cycle counting program
- Lifts and transfers inventory from receiving dock to different points in the warehouse
- Moving material within the warehouse based on direction of the warehouse manager
- Assigns stock location under the direction of the inventory specialist
- Verifies receipt of customer owned equipment delivered to NCI
- Perform system transactions necessary to accurately reflect inventory transactions.
- Issuance of material based on project requirements under the direction of the warehouse manager
- Utilizes a forklift, order picker and pallet rider to unload, move, stack and stage products and materials
- Perform cycle counts
- Ensure that stockroom is neat, clean, organized and accurate, at all times.
- Supporting inventory and receiving specialists with inventory, receiving functions
- General warehouse duties as specified by warehouse manager
- Organization of material for use by operations department
- May be required to use company vehicles to run materials between vendors and between warehouse locations
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
- Basic computer skills, comfortable with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- A minimum of 2 years working in a warehouse within a production environment
- Experience with use of Encompix, Oracle, SAP or equivalent is desired
- Prior experience in a manufacturing warehouse
- Experience with cycle counts
- Decision making and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing techniques
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and other staff
Work Environmental and Physical Demands:
- To perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
- Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include week days, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
- Job will generally be performed in a shop/office environment, but may require travel to a Client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Candidates must be able to tolerate heights.
