VST Project Engineer

Description:

Summary: Evaluate, research, develop, maintain, and monitor engineering processes to assure product development, production, and quality. Coordinate efforts to create product specific build instructions of defense and aerospace cable assemblies and harnesses. Institute control systems to enhance production consistency, quality standards, cost, and schedule adherence in a high mix environment that requires managing multiple projects simultaneously.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

?? Engineering ownership of a specific customer base

?? Interpret defense and aerospace technical specifications

?? Evaluate drawings, electrical schematics, and BOMs to assess production viability and offer execution support

?? Reconcile technical issues with internal and external customers

?? Provide design and manufacturing related solutions

?? Evaluate and specify materials and processes to meet customer requirements

?? Determine methods, fixtures, and tooling required for new projects

?? Establish and maintain production process instructions that communicate build steps to production personnel

?? Validate production times and provide feedback on labor and material estimates


Requirements:

Qualifications:

?? BSME, BSIE, BSEE or BS in a related field

?? Minimum five years engineering experience in a production facility

?? Experience with cable and harness manufacturing / design for military and aerospace products

?? Mechanical intuition and print interpretation skills


Skills and Abilities:

?? Experience with government, military, MIL-SPEC, and SAE specifications

?? Familiarity with connector, wire, and cable specifications (both military and commercial)

?? Proficiency evaluating assembly drawings, schematics, and production instructions

?? Ability to research, collect, and interpret technical data

?? Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD environment

?? Strong verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills

?? Strong intrapersonal skills to interact with other departments

?? Strong managerial skills and self-motivated to work within tight schedule and cost constraints

?? Experience developing and executing multiple projects simultaneously


Work environment:

?? Product development lab, manufacturing floor, and office environment

?? Extended periods of time spent on the production floor communicating with technicians, engineers, assemblers, and supervisory personnel

?? Extensive use of computer and specialty software programs


Must be US Person- Citizen of USA or Permanent Resident.
