Joyce University of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking a seasoned and results-driven Vice President of Financial Aid to lead and manage our Financial Aid Student Services department. This role is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and strategic direction of the Financial Aid Department, including the effective administration of all student financial aid programs-federal, state, and local.


As the university's subject matter expert in financial aid, the VP will provide visionary leadership to ensure exceptional service delivery, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. They will guide and support students through the entire financial aid process, helping them understand, apply for, and secure the necessary funding to pursue their education at Joyce University. All activities must align with federal, state, and institutional regulations and standards.


This position is based at our Draper, UT campus, though we are open to considering exceptional remote candidates willing to travel periodically to campus.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:

  • Works closely and collaborate with all Enrollment Services departments including Admissions, Student Accounts, Registrar and Student Services for each entering cohort
  • Manage and supervise all financial aid processes for awarding student loans, grants, and scholarship packages. Develop and monitor the Financial Aid Office budget including personnel needs and departmental operating expenses.
  • Develop student costs of attendance (individual student budgets) including tuition, books, fees, room and board, etc.
  • Implement and monitor effective processes for compliant awarding of student financial aid.
  • Monitor student receivable accounts.
  • Interpret and apply federal laws and regulations, school policies and regulations, and state regulations relating to the delivery of student financial assistance.
  • Ensure that the school has exception-free Financial Aid audits and program reviews by keeping abreast of and implementing all federal and state laws and regulations that pertain to the programs administered by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Maintain institution's financial aid data to assure timely and accurate submission of required federal, state, and local reports.
  • Leads, trains, supervises and provides guidance on student financial aid counseling and financial aid processing
  • Supervises the processing of financial aid records in accordance with Federal and State regulations; assist with and provides guidance in the preparation and maintenance of financial aid packaging
  • Provides leadership on various working groups dedicated to streamlining and improving policies and procedures across function areas of the University
  • Ensures a high level of customer service through staff training, effective assessment and utilization of technology, process and policy development, and proactive communication
  • Detects and solves student packaging and processing issues using good insight, judgment and innovative, creative thinking
  • Extensively analyzes data to determine statuses of student financial aid application process and financial aid awarding processing effectiveness, to create dynamic solutions as well as inform strategic planning and tactical planning
  • Monitors and maintains the University's compliance with constantly changing federal and state regulations on student aid programs
  • Manages the aid administration of the student population. This includes current and prospective students on application procedures, eligibility requirements, internal policies and procedures, awarding of financial aid
  • Assures that students are serviced at the highest of standards
  • Assures that all communications to students and staff are correct and timely
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

WHAT YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED:

  • Required Education Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred Education Master's Degree
  • Required Experience 5+ Years in Higher Education Financial Aid Leadership, knowledge and experience implementing a Financial Aid Automation service
