About the Role:The Transportation Supervisor at the Bishopville Plant will play a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the transportation department, ensuring that all logistics and distribution activities are executed efficiently and effectively. This position is responsible for managing a team of drivers and logistics personnel, coordinating schedules, and optimizing routes to meet delivery deadlines while minimizing costs. The supervisor will also be tasked with maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety and accountability within the team. Additionally, the role involves analyzing transportation metrics and performance data to identify areas for improvement and implementing best practices. Ultimately, the Transportation Supervisor will contribute to the overall success of the plant by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
This is a night shift position. Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in transportation or logistics management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- CDL Class A is required.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with transportation management software and route optimization tools.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD).
- Familiarity with budget management and cost control in a transportation context.
Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the transportation team, including scheduling and route planning.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to transportation.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
- Analyze transportation metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing strategies to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any logistical challenges.
