Job Description Job Description About the Role: RDL Construction Inc is looking for an experienced and driven Superintendent to lead field operations on exciting construction projects in San Jose, CA. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and labor crews to maintain efficient daily field operations
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety protocols
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure accurate project execution
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks throughout all phases of construction
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and updates to project managers and stakeholders
  • Resolve on-site conflicts, delays, and technical challenges in a timely and effective manner
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred; commitment to jobsite safety is a must
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

Conduct project job walks

Prepare logistics plan and construction approaches

Participate in the General Contractor proposal and interview process

Establish Site Safety Plans

Maintain a safe and efficient working environment for subs and the construction team

Monitor and prepare safety reports

Provide site supervision and direction to extended construction and subcontractor team

Identify, track and manage subcontractors' scopes

Allocate manpower and resources as required to meet schedule

Interface with Building Inspectors

Identify potential project impacts and proposed solutions

Prepare 3-wk Rolling Schedules

Conduct weekly Subcontractor Meeting

Attend and contribute to weekly OAC meetings

Utilize construction background to identify field issues and suggest potential alternates

Review subcontractor and vendor drawings and submittals for adherence to plans and specs

Prepare, monitor, and update Master Schedule

Experience:

Must have at least 5 years of previous work experience as a Superintendent

Completion of OSHA 30 is required

Completion of CPR and First Aid training

Understanding of construction practices and procedures.

Must be able to speak, read, and write in English

Must be able to successfully complete the background check if offered employment

Must have basic knowledge of Building Management Systems: security, fire alarm/preauction, FM-200, sprinkler riser location, mechanical systems, electrical systems, data centers, and server rooms

Able to work nights/weekends

Strong organizational skills

Able to follow through with tasks

Flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently

Self-starter and able to operate in a fast-paced working environment with minimal direction

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including experience with MS Project and scheduling

Procore experience preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
