Stationary Engineer

Our client, a leader in critical environment management, is seeking an Operating Engineer 3 to join their team. As an Operating Engineer 3, you will be part of the Facilities Operations supporting critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer 3

Location:Menands, NY

Pay Range:$32/h - $36/h

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm M-F

What's the Job?

  • Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance for all facility systems, ensuring continuous operation and compliance with standards
  • Adjust and maintain refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, boilers, ventilators, hot water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical/electrical equipment
  • Conduct regular rounds, record readings, and make adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation; analyze system performance and resolve malfunctions
  • Install and repair plumbing, piping, and wiring; rebuild/install pumps, air compressors, heat exchangers, bearings, seals, filters, and controls
  • Operate and maintain critical equipment including UPS systems, generators, chillers, and air conditioning units

What's Needed?

  • Hands-on experience in a data center or critical facility environment, including UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgear equipment
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Operating Engineers license (SMA) or equivalent
  • Universal Technician certification for CFCs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and analytical abilities
