Travel Requirements: This role requires minimal travel to visit suppliers in the valley, LA, and the East Coast. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, material/production planning or demonstrated equivalent knowledge of supply chain function. Aerospace or defense industry experience is a must for requirements purposes. Bachelor's degree is a must. Hands-on MRP experience is a must. Strong Knowledge in ERP systems (required). Knowledgeable and experienced in machined and electronic components (preferred). Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100 (preferred). We are looking for someone ambitious and looking to grow. Proven good job stability. APICS certification is a plus. As a Senior Buyer at Skurka Aerospace, you will: Lead complex procurement activities. Be a subject matter expert in procurement and negotiating with suppliers for the purchase of designated materials, components, equipment, or services. Purchase materials, equipment supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures. Gather quotations, examine bids, negotiate to secure favorable terms meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date and place orders timely. Proactive in identifying and solving material issues to eliminate shortages and minimize production delays while supporting production schedules. Monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned purchase orders to assure best quality at best value. Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance. Actively drive cost-reduction initiatives. Interface with internal teams. Report to the Materials Manager. Work in a fast-paced environment that often requires 10 hours a day.
