Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist works to ensure the efficient and accurate movement of goods with the ACG supply chain. This position is responsible for the receipt, storage and shipment of materials/finished products, and contributing to inventory accuracy. Works to ensure the proper handling and processing goods within provided guidelines. Maintains related documentation in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Coordinates effectively with varied departments to schedule and prioritize in/outbound shipments in a timely manner, ensuring flow of materials through the supply chain.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
- Prepare parts safely for shipping and delivery.
- Verify and update shipping documentation; ensure accurate, timely ERP inputs and overall processing.
- Receive goods and materials; Route as appropriate in alignment with specific directions and standard procedure.
- Operates forklift and other lifting mechanisms to move materials and parts to appropriate locations.
- Verifies products received against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Receive materials into ERP system.
- Packs, stages, and prepares outgoing shipments.
- Accurately packs orders and routes orders to appropriate destination; accurately logs and tracks shipments.
- Schedule and prioritize outbound and inbound shipments in a timely manner according to Company procedures.
- Complete inventory cycle-counts in the Shipping warehouse regularly, investigating any discrepancy between system and physical quantity.
- Ensures appropriate, compliant, accurate labeling all products.
- Follows material handling guidelines.
- Works proactively with other departments and provides support as needed to ensure customer needs are met.
- Builds productive working relationships with internal and external partners
- Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazard.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- + years' experience in shipping/receiving
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
- Proficiency with inventory management systems, digital tracking systems, and basic computer applications (i.e. MS Outlook)
- Basic MS Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with ERP and/or shipping/receiving software/programs
- Experience with international and domestic shipping documentation requirements
- Prior experience with inventory cycle counts
- Working knowledge Safety Data Sheets (SDS) documents and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labelling requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Working Environment: Able to work in a manufacturing environment, exposure to noise, dust, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, chemicals, magnets and automated and manual machinery. Ability to work around some noise, dust and coolant spray when machines are in use. Wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel or composite toe safety shoes, and designated PPE gloves as required.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry, push and pull product up to 55 lbs., bend, stretch, kneel, twist, crouch and stand for long periods of time. Ability to use a ladder and work at heights up to 25ft. Must be able to move and adapt to work in a variety of positions i.e. standing, sitting bending, and moving between work areas. Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Willing and able to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines and complete special projects.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines for completion of projects.
Full Time, Monday through Friday
7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Compensation details: 20.75-26.5 Hourly Wage
