Position Description:

Our Sheet Metal Installers are expected to follow the design and specifications required of the project. The Sheet Metal Installers will receive direct and indirect supervision. This position is a safety sensitive job, where the employee is responsible for and can impact their own safety as well as the safety of those around them.


PRIMARY SKILLS:

  1. Expertly fabricates, assembles, installs, repairs, or replaces commercial HVAC systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls used to transport water, waste, gases or liquids
  2. Reads blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of HVAC systems, and any other relevant project details
  3. Select gauge and type of sheet metal according to SMACNA
  4. Locate and mark dimensions per plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  5. Fabricate duct onsite to include miter and alterations to shop fabricated duct
  6. Erect and install equipment such as air handling units, VAV boxes, fan power boxes, and others as required
  7. Works in cooperation with all co-workers as well as other trades and laborers to ensure that all specifications, building codes (local and state), safety regulations, and legal requirements are met
  8. Accepts directives and guidance from Foreman and Field Supervisor
  9. Ensures efficient completion of all projects
  10. Available and willing to travel to assigned job sites
  11. Available and willing to work overtime, as needed
  12. Performs manual labor tasks that prepares the work area for primary tasks
  13. Participates in meetings, workshops, training and seminars as required
  14. Other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:
  1. Solid understanding of building codes and safety practices
  2. High School diploma or equivalent
  3. Ability to read and interpret diagrams, plans and manuals
  4. Attention to detail and quality of work performed
  5. Ability to work independently, with excellent time management skills
  6. Good communications skills
  7. Good organizational skills
  8. Observes and abides by all Company procedures and safety rules
  9. Ability to work and interact with others in a positive manner
