The Purchasing team plays a critical role in ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-effective procurement for our healthcare operations. We're a collaborative group focused on problem-solving and process improvement, committed to supporting supply chain continuity across the Lifepoint enterprise.

How you'll contribute

A Senior Specialist, Purchasing who excels in this role:

• Manages order creation from requisitions specific to assigned supplier groups and categories.

• Monitors order transmission and confirmation processes for accuracy and efficiency.

• Collaborates with suppliers to resolve backorders and order discrepancies.

• Processes amendments and updates related to active purchase orders.

• Responds to supplier and facility inquiries on order status and issues.

• Provides support and resolution for ordering concerns from hospital sites.

• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree and experience in healthcare supply chain operations. Additional qualifications include:

• Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Operations or related field.

• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in healthcare/hospital supply chain operations.

• Certifications/Licenses: None required.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in intermediate computer operations, relational databases, and procurement systems.

  • Strong mathematical skills for calculating rates, ratios, and interpreting data.

• Communication:

  • Able to communicate complex purchasing needs across stakeholders.

  • Skilled in conflict resolution and collaborative problem-solving.

• Decision-Making:

  • Exercises moderate independent judgment.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously and adapts to evolving business needs.

• Leadership:

  • May plan and assign work to others, and participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews.
