Seeking an experienced and driven Senior Process Engineer to join our team at the Crosby, Texas facility. In this role, you will lead the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of new projects, while optimizing existing chemical processes to support business growth and operational excellence. With a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and innovation, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering standards, conduct process hazard analyses, and provide technical leadership for complex chemical manufacturing challenges.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Leadership:
Lead design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities for new projects at the Crosby, Texas plant.
Define and evaluate technical process alternatives to support business growth and improve chemical tolling operations.
Oversee conceptual and detailed process designs, project engineering, contractor supervision, and quality assurance.
Process Optimization:
Provide process engineering support throughout the plant, including leadership in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) or HAZOP reviews.
Develop corporate and plant engineering standards, including specification sheets for equipment and instrumentation.
Lead troubleshooting, debottlenecking, and capacity expansion efforts to optimize plant performance.
Collaboration & Compliance:
Work with cross-disciplinary teams (CADD, instrumentation, structural, mechanical, automation, construction management) to coordinate successful project execution. Ensure projects comply with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
Technical Support:
Support the Project Manager as a lead process and/or project engineer on large-scale projects.
Serve as the lead project engineer on small to medium-sized projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
10+ years of experience as a Process or Project Engineer in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Proficiency in applying core chemical engineering principles, including mass and energy balances, heat transfer, hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and MOC selection.
Demonstrated expertise in process design, automation, troubleshooting, debottlenecking, capacity expansion, P&ID development, and commissioning of new processes.
Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams and working with external engineering firms and consultants.
Strong understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and participation in PHA processes.
Proficiency in Aspen or ChemCad software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred:
Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering.
15+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical manufacturing plant.
Experience developing corporate and/or plant engineering standards.
Expertise in various process unit operations, such as batch reactions, bulk storage, railcar loading/unloading, solids handling, distillation, filtration, and thermal oxidation.
Familiarity with flares, oxidizers, and wastewater treatment systems.
Knowledge of chemical processes such as Alkoxylation, Maleation, Esterification, and Amine-acid reactions.
Familiarity with batch and semi-continuous processes.
