Safety Coordinator

Our client, an industry leader in the industrial gases sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Coordinator to join their team. As a Safety Coordinator, you will be an integral part of the safety management team supporting operational excellence and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective interpersonal communication, and a proactive safety mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Location: Torrance, CA

Pay Range:$116.50

What's the Job?

  • Lead and facilitate daily safety meetings to promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Verify the full implementation of safety processes during plant turnarounds.
  • Ensure receipt and accuracy of training documentation, including certifications.
  • Follow up on incidents and near-misses to ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.

What's Needed?

  • 10+ years of experience in a Safety Coordinator role within refinery or petrochemical industries.
  • Degree in health and safety-related disciplines and/or current CSP certification preferred.
  • Subject matter expertise in OSHA, MSHA, NFPA, NEC, CGA, Alberta OHS regulations.
  • Proven experience in site auditing, assessment, and coaching for safety improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and training skills with a positive safety attitude.
