Position Description:

The Briar Team, Central Florida's top family-owned Site Development Construction company, is looking for hard-working, experienced, and reliable Road Base/Grade Foremen for immediate hire with excellent pay and benefits, performance bonuses, profit sharing, generous paid time off and yearly loyalty bonuses, in addition to training and opportunities for growth.

Join our team as a Road Base/Grade Foreman, where you'll lead and oversee the construction and maintenance of road base and grading projects. Your expertise will ensure that our projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Road Base/Grade Foreman Responsibilities:

  1. Base/Grade Foreman will balance and stabilize roadways.
  2. Once roads are stabilized and curb installed, base crew will install base and finish grade roads for asphalt.
  3. Base foreman will run the road grader full time
  4. Foreman plus: 3-man crew, loader operator and 2 ground support workers. Foreman bringing their own crews preferred.
  5. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the road base and grading crew.
  6. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  7. Interpret and enforce construction plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  8. Assign tasks to crew members based on project requirements and individual skill sets.
  9. Inspect work progress and quality to ensure adherence to design specifications.
  10. Operate and maintain heavy machinery, such as graders and rollers, as needed.
  11. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  12. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to address any technical or scheduling issues.
  13. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and project reports.
  14. Order and manage materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for project completion.
  15. Train new employees on proper grading techniques and safety protocols.
  16. Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  17. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues arising during the grading process.
  18. Monitor weather conditions and adjust project plans accordingly.
  19. Ensure proper drainage and compaction techniques are applied during construction.

Job Type: Salaried Full Time


Expected hours: 40 - 55 per week

Schedule:

  1. Monday - Friday. Saturdays on an as-needed basis. 6:45am-4:45pm
  2. No overnights or over the road travel. No per diem pay.
  3. Jobsite Range: Palm Coast, FL to St Cloud, FL
  4. Year-round work


Position Requirements:

Job Requirements:

- 5 years of experience in road construction or related field.

- Proven experience in managing and supervising road base and grading projects.

- Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and procedures.

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.

- Skilled in operating and troubleshooting heavy machinery and equipment.

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Proficiency in using relevant construction software and tools.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Strong commitment to safety protocols and regulations.

- Physical stamina to handle long hours and demanding tasks.

- Certification in construction safety and management is a plus.
