Summary
The Field Service Engineer delivers technical expertise to support automation systems, including robots, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and motion control. This role includes system installation, troubleshooting, programming, and training. It is a remote position with regular travel to customer sites across North America and occasional global travel. While fully remote is supported, Acieta prefers candidates located near one of our regional offices to support collaboration, mentorship, and long-term development.
Essential Functions
Travel up to 90 percent, primarily within the Midwest and Great Lakes regions, with occasional international assignments
Install, troubleshoot, program, and maintain automated systems both on-site and remotely
Train customer personnel on system operation, recovery, and maintenance
Document service activities accurately and maintain necessary records and backups
Support system upgrades, retrofits, internal builds, and integration projects
Respond to service requests, assist with spare parts orders, and contribute to proposal development as needed
Report customer concerns, delays, and site barriers to the Field Support Manager
Collaborate with internal teams to identify quality or cost improvement opportunities
Prioritize time effectively to meet service expectations and deadlines
Complete technical training and share knowledge with peers
Promote and follow all safety requirements at customer sites and within Acieta
Represent Acieta with professionalism, urgency, and a customer-first mindset
Perform other duties aligned with qualifications and training
