Quality Technician II

Job Summary: Under the direction of DeltaHawk's Quality Manager, the Quality Technician II is responsible for accurate and efficient dimensional inspection, testing and documentation of close tolerance components and assemblies to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or model. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities listed below.   • Perform final dimensional or mechanical inspection of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for conformance to drawings and engineering specifications
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments such as optical comparator, micrometers, vernier calipers, comparators, bore gauges, pins, thread gauges, and other common inspection tools
  • Ability to devise dimensional gauging set-ups, perform part layout inspection, and establish part inspection procedures
  • Document and report non-conforming materials
  • Perform complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) on components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies
  • Maintain FAIRs & Support ECNs as directed and under the supervision of the Quality Manager/Engineer
  • Fostering professional working relationships with peers to further the output of the group and to learn and teach within the group
Qualifications Requierd
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution and 5 + years inspection experience in an ISO 9001
  • Experience in close tolerance inspection environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental relationships at all levels
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of drawings, engineering specifications, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Willingness to learn new methods of inspection
Preferred:
  • Advanced knowledge of GD&T
  • Fluency reading Dimensioned Engineering/Manufacturing Drawings with Bills of Material, Notes, Dimensional Tolerances with Critical to Quality Features
Working Conditions Work will primarily be performed in a metrology lab maintained to environmental conditions for temperature and humidity consistent with industry standards for measurement accuracy. Lifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to bench height will be required. Kneeling, squatting, bending and other positions appropriate to properly read gauges and position materials for measurement will be required. Periodically assignments may require work be performed in a production area or at a supplier, requiring the use of PPEs determined appropriate for the environment by the resident authority.
