Quality Technician - Charter Wire (Milwaukee, WI)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 1:30 PM - 9:30 PM

At Charter Wire, a division of Charter Manufacturing, we're dedicated to producing high-quality precision steel products that drive innovation across industries. We're looking for a Quality Technician who takes pride in accuracy, teamwork, and craftsmanship to join our Milwaukee team.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll be responsible for mechanical and metallurgical testing and evaluation to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards. You'll perform hands-on lab work, testing, and inspections while collaborating across departments to support production and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical testing such as tensile, bend, and hardness, and prepare metallographic samples.

• Operate, adjust, and modify laboratory equipment for optimal performance.

• Maintain laboratory supplies, cleanliness, and calibration of equipment.

• Process trial orders, including testing, layouts, capability studies, dock audits, and trial reviews.

• Prepare and approve certifications for shipment of final products.

• Maintain and perform gage calibration and manage calibration system records.

What You'll Bring

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 3 years of experience in metallurgical testing and inspection.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently.

• Experience collaborating in a team environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Demonstrated experience using inspection gages.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 standards.
