Position Summary:

With general guidance from the Quality Assurance Manager, employee uses basic knowledge of production process and mathematical capacities to help the quality department (and facility) meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI).

Responsibilities


Quality Intern Responsibilities:

  • Conducts process / product inspections as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Inspects product visually and using inspection equipment to verify conformance to customer requirements
  • Conducting inspections of purchased incoming material using inspection equipment
  • Interpret and record data
  • Assists with maintaining and updating gages
  • Assists with maintaining gage calibration
  • Collecting and organizing measurement data and other documentation to support customer PPAP requirements
  • Assists with inception and maintenance of controlled documents for all Oconee processes
  • Assists with root cause analysis of non-conforming product
  • Analyze internal failures to determine cause and suggest improvements that will
  • prevent recurrence
  • Assist with analyzing customer returns to determine cause and suggest
  • improvements that will prevent recurrence
  • Document and communicate results
  • Assists with collecting data for machine capability studies
  • Other special duties and responsibilities as assigned



Qualifications




Quality Intern Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a 4-year Industrial Engineering degree.
  • Demonstrate an ability in problem solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and countermeasure manufacturing or supplier related technical and / or systemic issues.
  • Possess the ability to be self-directed.
  • Able to build effective teams and the ability to work with suppliers, plant manufacturing, and purchasing to ensure the deliverables are met.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes for components.
  • Experience with automotive components and functional requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.
