Summary: Responsibility for performing all Quality Engineering functions within the assigned Value Stream Team and for the customers they support. Such functions include, but not limited to:
- Review of incoming orders and technical data package customer requirements
- Preparation of quality control instructions and other quality procedures
- Support and oversight of first articles, quality inspections and audits in production
- Investigating, resolving and preventing product quality problems to include RCCA
- Evaluation, failure analysis and disposition of returned or rejected assemblies
- Review and disposition of defective components
- Coordination with vendors in resolving quality issues
- Cross-functional interactions with other team members to continually quality improvements
- Provide premier customer quality service and protect the Voice of the Customer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and correct potential problems. Lead corrective action, preventive action, and continuous improvement activities for the value stream
Drive quality improvement projects via action plans and other quality tools
Preparation and approval of Inspection and Test Plans issued to the shop floor for standard / stock products in accordance with specifications
Review/approve customer orders, confirming customer quality requirements can be met
Control and approve Product Containment, Nonconforming Product, Customer NCRs and Field Complaints in accordance with QMS requirements
Monitor quality trends and report routine/substantial developments to senior company leadership
Evaluation, failure analysis and disposition of returned or rejected assemblies
Review and disposition defective components found in manufacturing
Coordination with vendors in resolving component Quality issues
Coordinate with Quality Inspectors and Quality Techs assigned to production lines
Adherence to all company procedures
Function as a collaborative team member in ad hoc Continuous Improvement activities
Support Team in evaluation of Quality Characteristics of Product
Maintain a safe and orderly work area
Other duties as assigned

Internal Quality: First Pass Yield and Scrap
External Quality: Customer returns, Customer scorecards
Corrective Action Response effectiveness
DMR disposition, RMA Evaluation and Contract review timeliness
First Article Inspection Report accuracy and review timeliness
Qualifications:
Must be a US person: Citizen or Permanent resident due to contractual requirements
Minimum 5 years' manufacturing experience with a certified QMS (AS9100 preferred)
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (preferred, but will consider experiential offset)
Process expertise in Logistics, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management required
Specialized skills, knowledge of standards/specifications unique to this role (RCCA, APQP, AS9102, IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD-001 experience preferred)
A3 Problem Solving, 5-Why, 8D, Leadership Standard Work experience preferred
Proficiency with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. Epicor knowledge a plus
Strong ability to Lead and Mentor as an Individual Contributor
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and written skills
Strong Microsoft Office suite skills: specifically Excel and PowerPoint and ability to create macros, pivot charts and other graphics
Strong analytical thinking, organizational skills, and ability to use data to make informed recommendations and decisions
Able to operate independently and with a sense of urgency and accountability
Strong auditing and investigative traits
