LOCATION: Oak Hill, Aldie, VA

JOB HIGHLIGHTS

The Property Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Oak Hill, ensuring the building's facilities are well maintained and compliant with all property laws and regulations. The property manager will also plan, direct, and/or coordinate the purchasing, leasing, and governance activities of the property. The Property Manager will coordinate the activities of contract employees for maintenance, upkeep, and general operations of the property. Ideally, the Property Manager will live on or near the property, in Aldie, Virginia. This is a temporary, part-time appointment expected to be 18-24 months long.

• Manages and supervises the administration, improvement, maintenance, and general operations of the property, including 11 tenant houses and several historic buildings.
• Identifies the need for, schedules and coordinates general upkeep, major repairs, remodeling, and/or construction projects on the property.
• Collects fees, including those for monthly assessments, rentals, deposits, insurance, taxes, and other operating expenses.
• Determines whether repairs and/or maintenance are needed based on regular inspections of the grounds, facilities, and equipment.
• Develops and presents detailed budgets and financial reports on the property.
• Maintains property records, including maintenance and operating costs and any special permits issued.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO HAVE

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in property management.
• Basic understanding of the materials, methods, and tools used to construct and repair buildings and infrastructure of properties.
• Understanding of laws, guidelines, and best practices of property management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel in the area as necessary to carry out duties, often with short notice.
• Willingness to work occasional evening or weekend hours for emergencies.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.

WHAT WE'D LIKE YOU TO HAVE

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, or related field.
• Experience with management of historic and/or farm property.
• Certification in property management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Some lifting and carrying will be necessary - up to 40 pounds.
• Work is performed in both an office setting and in outdoor settings in all weather conditions.
• Estimated travel -20% per month. Day travel as needed for local purchases.
• Must be periodically available for property emergencies and events on evenings and weekends.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $35,568 - $41,600, and the position is eligible for opportunities to earn performance-based bonus compensation. Please note: Salary range provided is an estimate and will be evaluated on an individual basis, taking into consideration the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and education. The final salary offer will be determined accordingly. Along with a competitive compensation and benefits, the Property Manager will have the option to live on-site with either subsidized or complimentary rent.
