Production Planner

How Will You Make an Impact?

As a Production Planner at our Memphis, TN facility, you will orchestrate the efficient flow of production to meet customer demand, optimize resource utilization, and ensure on-time delivery. You will leverage forecasting, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to develop and execute production plans that drive customer satisfaction and operational performance.

What Will You Do?
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive production plans and schedules to meet customer requirements and production targets.
  • Utilize forecasting and demand analysis to anticipate changes in customer demand and adjust production plans accordingly.
  • Perform detailed data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet modeling to track production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customer communication, providing updates, managing expectations, and resolving issues.
  • Execute demand management strategies to align inventory levels with production capacity.
  • Oversee materials management and materials control activities to ensure availability of components for production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans.
  • Monitor planning metrics and drive continuous improvement in scheduling accuracy, delivery performance, and inventory management.
  • Provide proactive communication regarding risks, delays, or changes that may impact customer commitments.
  • Comply with all company policies, including safety, security, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Planning Supervisor, Planning Manager
  • Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees.
How Will You Get Here?Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven experience in production planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of customer service, customer management, and demand planning principles
  • Advanced analytical skills, including forecasting, spreadsheet analysis, and data reporting
  • Experience with materials control and materials management processes
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
