Product Design Engineer's and create seating solutions that keep operators comfortable, safe, and productive in turf, agriculture, and construction machines.
About the Role: At Seat King, design doesn't stop at the drawing board. We take responsibility
from concept through production and beyond. This means you'll lead the creation of new seating systems and also support them after delivery, ensuring modifications, refinements, and troubleshooting meet evolving customer needs. This role is perfect for a design engineer who values
end-to-end ownership, thrives in hands-on product development, and understands that great design includes sustaining and improving products already in use.
What You'll Do: - New Product Development Lead the design and prototyping of seating products for turf, agriculture, and construction OEM customers.
- Lifecycle Ownership Provide engineering support post-delivery for modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting ensuring long-term reliability and customer trust.
- Operator-Centered Design Apply ergonomic and human factors principles to reduce fatigue, improve comfort, and enhance usability in rugged, high-vibration environments.
- Prototyping & Testing Oversee prototypes and field evaluations to refine seat design for performance and manufacturability.
- Integrated Engineering Collaborate with suppliers, OEM customers, and Seat King production teams to deliver solutions that balance innovation, manufacturability, and durability.
What You'll Need: - A mindset of continuous improvement and ownership willing to both create new and sustain existing product lines.
- Bachelor's degree in Product Design or Engineering (with strong product development focus and/or ergonomic focus).
- 5+ years' product design experience, preferably in seating, interiors, or operator-focused equipment for OEM industries or parallel verticals.
- Demonstrated success in taking seating products from concept to production.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred) for creating seat assemblies, structures, and cushioning systems.
- Knowledge of ergonomics, anthropometrics, and adjustability features in seating.
- Familiarity with ride-quality and vibration isolation design.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, production, and customer teams.
