Position: Cost Engineer (Pricing/Quoting)
Location: Hudson, MA (on-site)

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience/fair market value

Purpose & Scope: This vital position will be responsible for reviewing, pricing, and quoting customer projects to ensure low cost and efficient manufacturing while satisfying all requirements and product specifications.

Essential Duties May Include:

  • Interacting with sales, internal Engineering teams, and external vendors to appropriately price new customer projects
  • Reviewing customer agreements and specifications to ensure materials used are appropriate for the job and abide by ISO specifications (as applicable)
  • Completing RFQ's, producing reliable estimates, and verifying the tooling provided by suppliers meet all requirements necessary for efficient production
  • Securing external vendor pricing and/or applying standard costs to determine the price of manufacturing
  • Applying profit margins by marking up cost and recommending the final selling price to management team
  • Reviewing and approving all tool designs and design changes, making any updates to pricing as needed
  • Ensuring complete and accurate filing of customer history folders, pricing data, and related records/reports
  • Preparing estimates for the teams to plan, organize, and schedule work

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Plastics Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience pricing/quoting custom plastic injection molding jobs
  • Knowledge of mold building, raw materials, latest equipment and techniques as well as injection molding resins and processing
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Highly motivated and posses the ability to work well under deadlines
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
