Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a Mechanical, Test & Validation Engineering 3 to join their team. As a Mechanical, Test & Validation Engineering 3, you will be part of the engineering department supporting various testing and validation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a detail-oriented mindset, strong project coordination skills, and a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical, Test & Validation Engineering 3

Location: Long Beach, CA

Pay Range: $60.00-$64.00 Hourly

What's the Job?

  • Execute processes for large certification testing projects involving emissions and OBD.
  • Perform the validation of released or soon-to-be-released software for US market light-duty gasoline, diesel, and hybrid vehicles.
  • Plan and conduct testing of gasoline or diesel powertrains in the areas of combustion, emissions control, and OBD.
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues and discuss countermeasures in a team setting.
  • Create reports for internal and external stakeholders based on testing analysis and certification-related software changes.

What's Needed?

  • Detail-oriented mindset and strong project coordination skills required.
  • Experience with light-duty gasoline and diesel engine control units, especially Bosch control units.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of CARB OBD2 regulations and/or vehicle electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in OBD2 monitor development (i.e., design or calibration) and testing.
  • Proficient with data acquisition and development tools/languages such as INCA, MATLAB, and/or Python.
