Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the Mechanical Engineering Department supporting cross-functional R&D, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, advanced problem-solving abilities, and technical leadership, which will align successfully in the organization

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (1-Year Contract)

Location: Tarrytown, NY

Pay Range: $46.49/hr - $64.08/hr

What's the Job?

• Lead and execute complex mechanical and electro-mechanical design solutions for medical device subsystems.

• Perform advanced engineering analysis to validate design intent and robustness.

• Produce and approve detailed CAD drawings using GD&T and engineering best practices.

• Drive engineering changes through PLM workflows and cross-functional collaboration.

• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for complex design issues.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).

• 8-10+ years of experience in product design within FDA-regulated environments.

• High proficiency with 3D CAD (preferably NX) and GD&T.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, sheet metal, castings, and plastic injection molding.

• Experience with FMEA/DFMA, motion technologies, and simulation tools (FEA/CFD).
