Job Summary:

The Mechanic Co-op position is designed for individuals with foundational training or experience in equipment maintenance and repair who are eager to further develop their skills in a hands-on environment. Working alongside experienced mechanics, you will build on your existing knowledge to support the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and equipment.

Essential Functions:

1. Dedication. Assist in routine maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, vehicles, and equipment.

2. Determined. Troubleshoot mechanical issues under the supervision of senior mechanics.

3. Committed to serve. Conduct inspections to identify wear and tear, leaks, and other common maintenance needs.

4. Protect family and friends. Safely operate tools and equipment to assist in repairs and replacements.

5. Results matter. Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.

6. Efficiency. Clean and organize the work area and tools to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.

7. Safety always wins. Adhere to all company safety standards and protocols during all maintenance activities.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

1. Working toward a high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
2. Basic mechanical aptitude and prior hands-on experience in a workshop, automotive, or related setting required.
3. Willingness to expand your skills and knowledge in the field.
4. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
5. Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
6. Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
7. A valid driver's license is preferred.
8. Legal ability to work in the U.S.

Position may require you to travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position works both indoors and outdoors in hot, humid and inclement weather. Heavy work includes moving objects up to 50 lb. or more. This position works on or near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lifting, bending, squatting, walking, reaching, and repetitive motion.
