Material Handler- Shipping


Description:

The Shipper ensures accurate, timely, and efficient preparation, packaging, and shipment of outgoing orders.

  • Use knowledge of part numbers, part usage, and understand application for use
  • Pull parts to ship
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Prepare all shipping documents in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare and expedites shipments, including but not limited to:
  • assembling product containers
  • packing each order with correct packing materials to protect equipment from damage
  • determining labeling requirements, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons, including any special labels that are customer required
  • posts weights, shipping charges and affixes postage
  • Collaborates, tracks, traces, and communicate the status of outgoing shipments
  • Provides quote details to Parts Coordinator as requested by the customer in a timely manner
  • Provide month end order details and lists to the Parts Coordinator as needed to identify all open orders remaining
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Assists with receiving tasks as needed on a routine basis (open packages / stock shelves)
  • Work in accordance with health and safety regulations

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30a- 5:00p
  • This position is defined as a safety sensitive position

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year minimum in a related warehouse position
  • Ability to read and write
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where standing and moving between various workstations is essential
  • Computer experience required
  • Capability of multi-tasking
  • Basic Math skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Must be able to understand quality standards, methods and reporting as required
  • Ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision
