Manufacturing Quality Engineer Drive Quality Where It Matters Most Do you enjoy solving manufacturing problems where every day is different?
Do you like being on the production floor instead of sitting behind a desk?
Are you the person others call when a supplier issue, assembly problem, or quality concern threatens production?
If so, we'd like to talk.
Our client is an established global manufacturer recognized for designing and building highly engineered products that operate in demanding environments. Their manufacturing operation brings together fabrication, machining, welding, paint, and assembly under one roof, creating a fast-paced environment where Quality Engineers make a direct impact on production performance, supplier quality, and continuous improvement.
If you enjoy solving complex manufacturing challenges and working closely with operations to improve quality at the source, this is an opportunity to make a visible difference. You'll become the quality owner for a major assembly line, supporting new product launches while driving long-term improvements across manufacturing and supplier performance.
What You'll Be Doing: As the Quality Engineer supporting a dedicated production line, you'll spend much of your time on the manufacturing floor responding to real-time quality issues and working with cross-functional teams to resolve them.
Responsibilities include: - Investigating manufacturing and supplier quality issues using structured root cause analysis.
- Responding to production quality concerns and helping maintain uninterrupted assembly operations.
- Working directly with operators, supervisors, manufacturing engineers, and suppliers to identify corrective actions.
- Coordinating containment activities, sorting, rework, and disposition of nonconforming material.
- Driving permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurring issues.
- Monitoring quality gates throughout the assembly process and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting supplier quality initiatives and improving incoming component quality.
- Reviewing engineering changes and ensuring quality requirements are properly implemented.
- Participating in new product introductions and launch activities.
- Performing internal audits and supporting ISO compliance.
- Using statistical methods and data analysis to improve manufacturing performance.
What Success Looks Like: During your first few months, you'll become familiar with the product, manufacturing process, suppliers, and assembly operations.
As you gain experience, you'll take ownership of quality performance for your production line by:
- Improving supplier quality.
- Reducing recurring defects.
- Helping resolve manufacturing issues before they impact production.
- Building strong relationships across production, engineering, planning, and supply chain.
- Driving continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
What We're Looking For: We're less concerned about finding someone from one specific industry and more interested in someone with strong manufacturing quality fundamentals.
Ideal candidates will have experience with:
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, or similar methodologies)
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Process capability and statistical analysis
