Position Overview

RTC is seeking ahighly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will develop detailed process plansthat ensure manufacturing aligns with customer requirements. You willcollaborate closely with production teams, quality engineers, and suppliers toimplement and refine manufacturing processes.

This is a hands-onrole that requires a strong understanding of machine shop practices,engineering principles, and continuous improvement methodologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed written work instructions and process documentation.
  • Develop supporting drawings and 3D models to aid production understanding.
  • Design and execute process routers, inspection plans, and documentation changes.
  • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.
  • Support new product development and corrective actions through process evaluation.
  • Assist with customer quotations by estimating methods, time, and costs.
  • Provide regular status updates on project milestones to internal teams.
  • Participate in resolving customer complaints and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a machine shop environment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and knowledge of GD&T standards.
  • Understanding of machine shop processes and Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA).
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 regulations and quality requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment:

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.

The Manufacturing Engineer Compensation range for onsite California and/or Washington applicants is $75,000-95,000 commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
