Ensures that all manufacturing processes and equipment comply with all government regulations as well as all applicable safety and environmental requirements are met or exceeded. Develops and manages new and sustainable capital program to ensure production facilities and processes support US Tsubaki Automotive, LLC's long term strategic plan. Provides strategic leadership around continuous improvement as well as lean. Oversees complete end to end planning, direction of all manufacturing processes. Provides manufacturing decision-making information to top management to assess and direct current state of the US Tsubaki Automotive, LLC's production system as well as identify future requirements.

- Puts safety first at all times and follows safety policies with guidance from the EHS department.
- Ensures that all manufacturing processes and equipment comply with all government regulations.
- Ensures all applicable safety and environmental requirements are met or exceeded.
- Leads, motivates, and coaches a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians. Establishes a collaborative and open work environment that develops, challenges, and grows talent.
- Develops and manages new and sustainable capital programs to ensure production facilities and processes support the long-term strategic plan.
- Create the stages of a manufacturing system that manufactures products in the most time-efficient and cost-effective way possible, while always maintaining staff safety and product quality.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements. Confer with equipment vendors and solicit observations from operators.
- Risk Management Program Operations Director (RMPO) team member for all special processes. Review manufacturing risk and develop improvement plan through process and capital improvement.
- Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems using proven standardized problem solving techniques.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Overseas manufacturing routing and work center times to complete a required process step.
- Researches tools, methodologies, and processes and implement solutions to improve production utilization and efficiency. Record findings and results.
- Ability to Problem Solve and provide Decision Making methods to tackle complex Product and Process Quality issues.
- Strong Manufacturing background in a high-volume, automated machining and assembly operation.
- Provides Leadership role in CI process to improve quality and efficiency and reduce costs.
- Key member of Management Team responsible for accomplishing business goals and objectives.
- Determine and implement continuous improvement plans for the equipment, and overall department.
- Manage yearly budget for the department ensure goals are met by reducing cost related to production and MRO supplies.
- Establish a working relationship with associated departments (i.e. Planning, Quality, Production and Accounting).
- Establish and maintain effective communication vehicles such as toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
- Understands, communicates, and follows all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract. Effectively utilizes this knowledge to:
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel related matters that affect the delivery and quality.
It is the expectation of the company that Manager/Supervisors will accomplish these goals by working to a high ethical standard and consistently complies with all company policies, work rules, Union Contractual agreements, and applicable laws with little to no direct supervision.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar
- Eight to ten years of experience effectively leading and managing people. A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing employee relations strategies and creating a positive work environment.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking with demonstrated accomplishments. Proven performance setting and exceeding customer service goals and profit targets.
- Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and/or Six Sigma training preferred.
