Manager, Freight Audit

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for auditing parcel/specialized carrier shipping activity, invoicing and claims. Ensure timely pricing updates, billing accuracy and claims reclamations, while maintaining organized records. Make informed decisions when discrepancies between contract alignment and vendor invoices occur. Evaluate, design and implement process changes with appropriate stakeholders to create cost reductions and efficiencies. Provide full performance reporting and analysis for specific subsidiaries and enterprise wide.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile invoices with receiving documents/systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies while working with separate divisions.

  • Ensure timely audit of assigned vendor's invoices with continued emphasis on validation and vendor reclamations.

  • Ensure disputes and resolutions are processed to meet contract alignment and commitment.

  • Master the use of vendor invoicing systems and all Sysco internal specialized subsidiary divisions.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries as required

  • Communicate findings including tracking, reclamation and process improvement suggestions to management.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding financial and compliance guidelines for each managed subsidiary as requested.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, collaborate with stakeholders to create process improvements. Track and report financial results as related to changes.

Education Preferred:

Degree or extensive experience in accounting/finance

Experience Required:

Three or more years' experience in logistics with focus on parcel/specialized shipping.

Technical Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced computer skills required, proficient with MS office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Must be able to analyze data and draw conclusions

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

  • Excellent accuracy, record keeping, organization, prioritization, attention to detail, follow up and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external customers

  • Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time

  • Self-managed and the ability to work independently while managing multiple programs

  • Ability to work proactively to drive financial results.
