Maintenance Technician

Launch your career in Facilities Management at JLL! We are looking for an energetic and dynamic Maintenance tech/painting specialist to join our integrated facilities management team at a client site to provide general handyman tasks and labor tasks associates with event set-up and tear-down.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Reporting to: Facilities Manager

The Maintenance Technician supports the operation and maintenance process to specialize in drywall repair and painting in our clients building. This position will also assist other team members in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as, independently performing defined tasks, including event support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs ongoing preventive and repair response work orders with primary responsibility drywall repair and painting.
  • Performs assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directed.
  • Moves &/or repairs office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested.
  • Patch and paint as required.
  • Complies with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognizes danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Submit P-card Receipts as required.
  • Updates work order statuses in real time
  • Utilizes CMMS systems such as Corrigo Facility for all work performed.
  • Organizing and arranging furniture and other event-related items according to special events in support of JLLs client
  • Removing and storing away furniture and other items used during the event.

Physical Work Requirements & Conditions

  • Lifting to 80 lbs.
  • Working from heights.
  • Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead.
  • Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb. weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.
  • Climbing a ladder up to 30 feet.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience; commercial industry general building preventative & corrective maintenance
  • 2+ years of work experience of general labor experience to include drywall repair and painting.
  • Proficient in MS Office, strong computer skills, and possess strong written, verbal and people skills
  • Strong organizational skills and collaborative style
  • Knowledge in the safe and proper use of the following tools: ladders, lifts, basic hand tools, safety goggles, ear protection, and fire extinguisher
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) &/or Building Management System (BMS)
