Our client, is a multinational oilfield services and equipment manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team.
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Houston, TX
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all shutdowns and repairs with supervisors and operators.
Perform daily preventive maintenance as scheduled.
Use proper safety procedures at all times, including Lockout/Tagout.
Comply with all applicable HSE requirements as specified in Quality Tubing's HSE Operational Requirements.
Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed equipment.
Connect power supply wires to equipment and components.
Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical apparatus.
Replace faulty electrical components and repair or replace electronic components.
Test malfunctioning machinery and verify proper operation following repairs.
Experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSD), hydraulics, and pneumatics is preferred.
Select proper welding processes, rods, and tools; perform welding as needed.
Inspect welded joints and conduct tests to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Cut, shape, and assemble fabricated components.
Operate machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Select, align, and secure fixtures, tools, and materials.
Calculate and set machine controls (speed, feed, coolant, etc.) or input/edit CNC programs.
Study blueprints, sketches, and manuals to determine dimensions, tolerances, and procedures.
Measure, mark, and scribe material for machining.
Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications.
Inspect and listen to machines to locate malfunctions.
Dismantle equipment to access problem areas.
Inspect and measure parts to detect wear or misalignment.
Replace defective parts in drive mechanisms or hydraulic systems.
Realign and adjust components like spindles and clutches.
Locate damaged air/hydraulic pipes, cut and install replacements.
Start equipment post-repair to verify functionality.
Assist mechanical engineers by suggesting design improvements for machine components.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
Does require PLC/Controls knowledge
Experience in mechanical, electrical, welding, machining, or machine repair (electrical experience preferred).
Ability to read and interpret schematics, safety rules, operation manuals, and technical procedures.
Strong written communication skills to complete reports and correspondence.
Proficient in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with fractions and decimals.
Ability to understand and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
