Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Additional duties may be assigned as required.)
- Investigate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery, including auxiliary equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and address identified issues promptly.
- Follow established safety protocols, including wearing required PPE.
- Repair machines efficiently to minimize production downtime.
- Supervise and coordinate work with outside contractors.
- Work from prints, plans, sketches, and layouts, with a focus on electrical schematics.
- Use precision measuring equipment and tools effectively.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including motors, transformers, and control panels.
- Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components such as fuses, breakers, wiring, and switches.
- Perform inspections and testing of electrical systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Calibrate and maintain sensors, actuators, and other components of automated equipment.
- Assist in designing and implementing electrical improvements or modifications to enhance system efficiency.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on outdoor equipment and systems, as required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree in industrial maintenance, electrical engineering, or a related field strongly preferred.
- At least five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience, with a focus on electrical systems and troubleshooting.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical schematics, control panels, and wiring diagrams is required.
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting is a strong advantage.
- Experience with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and other motor control systems is preferred.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and diagnostics.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. independently and collaborate for heavier loads.
- Stand, walk, and bend for extended periods, often on hard surfaces.
- Climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
- Work in confined spaces, overhead areas, or awkward postures for extended periods.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for moving heavy materials.
- Work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, and fumes.
- Perform outdoor maintenance tasks in varying weather conditions, such as rain, snow, or extreme heat, while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Utilize fine motor skills for handling small tools and equipment.
