The Maintenance Engineer participates in maintenance planning, reliability improvement and other maintenance and repair functions of a plant.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for machinery reliability improvement and engineering
  • Assists with maintenance planning, daily and yearly outages and predictive maintenance
  • Manages spare parts
  • Plans, coordinates and schedules work required
  • Supervises contractors and orders materials to ensure efficiency and success
  • Assists with capital budget and maintenance projects
  • Provides guidance to the mechanical maintenance personnel in the repair, maintenance and installation functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Requirements/Qualifications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of the principles of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Strong communication, organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Physical requirements: standing, stooping, walking on various surfaces and terrains, climbing up to 380 feet, lifting up to 70 lbs., walking long distances, ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process
  • Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection
  • Exposure to cement, clay, limestone and various lab chemicals; see MSDS for more details
  • Ability to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration, heights and confined spaces

Preferred:

  • Experience in project work in a manufacturing environment, preferably a cement plant
  • Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP
