Maintenance Director

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Director to lead our Maintenance and Housekeeping teams at our licensed RCFE community located in the beautiful city of Visalia. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our residents, families, and staff.

As Maintenance Director, you'll oversee all aspects of facility upkeep, regulatory compliance, vendor relations, safety programming, and team management-all with the goal of creating a beautiful and well-functioning community for our seniors to call home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee preventative maintenance for all systems: HVAC, fire safety, lighting, elevators, plumbing, landscaping, kitchen/laundry equipment, and vehicles.

  • Lead maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry teams; hire, train, and evaluate staff.

  • Ensure timely completion of resident work orders and general repair needs.

  • Administer contracts with vendors and manage the Engineering Department budget.

  • Direct the Community Safety Program including emergency preparedness and compliance with Cal/OSHA.

  • Maintain compliance with all state and local RCFE and building maintenance regulations.

  • Monitor cleanliness and safety in all common areas; conduct regular inspections.

  • Support executive leadership and contribute as part of the Management Team.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in facility maintenance required; experience in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred.

  • Prior leadership or management experience strongly preferred.

  • Solid skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong communication and customer service abilities.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

  • Knowledge of state licensure requirements for RCFEs and applicable safety codes.

  • Must meet all health, background, and TB screening requirements.

  • Current CPR/First Aid and Food Handler certifications.

  • Valid California driver's license with clean driving record.

  • Ability to lift, move, and perform physical tasks as needed (with or without accommodation).
