The Logistics Team Supervisor is a people-first, working leader responsible for coordinating and participating in the daily operations of shipping, receiving, and inventory control. This hands-on role balances leadership with active engagement-working side-by-side with team members to execute tasks, solve problems, and uphold standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to develop a cross-functional team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and work alongside a logistics team to meet daily operational goals across shipping, receiving, and inventory.
Package parts to prepare for shipping and daily attainment goals.
Receive and ship parts using online customer portals and prep packaging for shipping goals.
Actively participate in logistics activities, providing real-time guidance and support on the floor.
Hold team members accountable to performance, quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Maintain a regularly updated skills matrix to track cross-training and identify gaps or growth opportunities.
Develop and manage a rotating schedule that balances team responsibilities and supports continuous skill development.
Coordinate and execute shipping and receiving tasks using Epicor ERP and customer portals (technical support provided).
Ensure inventory transactions and kit issues are performed accurately and timely within the ERP system.
Investigate and respond to logistics-related issues (e.g., customer complaints, shipping delays); lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
Monitor packing material usage and drive cost-saving initiatives without sacrificing quality or compliance.
Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment using 5S and lean principles.
Lead and participate in cycle counting efforts and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve accuracy and reduce waste.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and teamwork, setting the tone by example.
Qualifications
3-5 years of experience leading teams in fast-paced environments such as manufacturing, warehousing, retail, food service, or military.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach performance and hold others accountable.
Willingness and ability to perform hands-on logistics tasks alongside team members.
Highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing shifting priorities and multiple workflows.
Comfortable learning and using ERP systems (Epicor experience is a plus but not required).
Familiarity with 5S, lean, or safety programs preferred (training available).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
