Logistics Assistant

General Summary:

Coordinate and oversee efficient, cost-effective supply chain operations.

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to the correct customers.

Verify that delivered products match specifications.

Quickly resolve any distribution challenges.

Utilize strong negotiation skills to optimize logistics processes.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage the shipment, receipt, and transportation of products, materials, and supplies.

Coordinate with logistics teams, customer service, and service providers to ensure smooth operations.

Track, trace, and update the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.

Organize and oversee the transport of heavy equipment, including cranes and forklifts, to the port of shipment.

Maintain accurate inventory records, including daily logs and stock counts.

Ensure a clean and organized factory receiving zone while promptly unloading and stocking deliveries.

Optimize logistical procedures and support shipping and receiving departments as needed.



Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong knowledge of international logistics, including import/export procedures, shipment documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL/AWB), international trade regulations (HTS codes, Incoterms), and compliance codes (e.g., FDA).

Familiarity with U.S. Customs clearance compliance and regulatory requirements for importing and exporting goods.

Stay updated on customs procedures, government agency regulations (health, agriculture, law enforcement, military), export controls, and restricted goods policies.

Experience in scanning, sorting, receiving, stocking, stacking, pulling, packing, and loading shipments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong time management, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or within a team.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

High school diploma/GED required; a degree in business administration, logistics, or a related field is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics management.

Forklift Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Strong understanding of legal regulations and ISO requirements.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.

Strong management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
