Role Purpose StatementThe Lean Process Intern will support the continuous improvement initiatives at LSG Sky Chefs by assisting in the identification, analysis, and implementation of process optimization opportunities. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with Lean methodologies in a dynamic and fast-paced airline catering environment. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency, contributing to the company's commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Main AccountabilitiesMain Accountabilities
??? Ensure compliance with all Continuous Improvement entities: man, method, machine.
??? Partners with CSC Leadership to ensure operational efficiency and improving the day-to-day work lives of our employees.
??? Participates in team-building exercises, and provides guidance and clarity based on internal methodologies.
??? Ensure that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed and directed and that all delivery times are being met in a timely manner.
??? Participate in daily work group meetings.
??? Support staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets.
??? Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies standards (example: Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United Stated Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.)
??? Document and follow up on all department processes in order to implement improvements.
??? Monitor and ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.
??? Other duties as deemed necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceCurrently pursuing a degree in one of the following fields is preferred:
Industrial Technology or Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Business Administration
Quality Management
Safety
Operations Management
Foundational knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including hot and cold conditions.
Physically able to bend, stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull as needed.
Flexible with scheduling to meet business needs.
Energetic, outgoing, and collaborative personality.
Creative mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute.
