Job Summary:
The Laborer will support the construction team in ensuring the efficient and safe execution of daily paving operations across assigned projects. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to asphalt placement and general site support.
Essential Functions:
1. Protect family and friends. Consistently promote a safe work environment by understanding and following proper equipment operation procedures and maintaining clear communication with team members.
2. Exhibit zero tolerance for unsafe behaviors by addressing issues promptly and performing all tasks in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
3. Dedication. Perform a range of physical tasks including shoveling, raking, and luting to assist in asphalt installation.
4. Committed to serve. Contribute to job site cleanliness, safety, and overall field maintenance.
5. Serve as the bar person on the paver, supporting equipment operation as needed.
6. Results matter. Responsible for marking out job sites independently, without the use of marking tape.
7. Respect and engage. Foster a professional, inclusive work environment by treating all colleagues with respect and contributing positively to team culture.
8. Safety always wins. Demonstrate reliability by arriving to work on time, properly equipped with the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1.High school diploma or GED preferred
2.Must be able to work variable hours including day shifts, night shifts, some weekends, and overtime
3.Previous experience in road construction, paving, or a related laborer role preferred
4.Ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions and environments
5.Understanding of safety procedures and commitment to following all safety protocols
6.Strong work ethic and dedication to reliability and punctuality
7.Valid driver's license preferred (may be required depending on job site location)
8.Authorized to work in the U.S.

Travel:
Position may require up to 100% travel by personal vehicle to project locations throughout the state of Rhode Island and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100lbs or more. This position works outdoors in most types of weather including high heat, and inclement weather. This position works near moving mechanical parts and loud equipment. This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, walking, sitting, reaching, driving, and repetitive motion.
