Job Summary:
Plans daily activities for container drayage drivers while maintaining flexibility to change activities as the day progresses. Determines which shipments IFG would control based on cost/time/revenue opportunity. Provides driver, operations, and customer support. Arranges schedules for workers, equipment, and/or service vehicles for the conveyance of containers. Maintains communications with all interested parties. Updates information and systems as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads daily meetings with Out-Bound International Logistics Analysts for efficient scheduling of containers to and from ports/warehouse (including direct ship warehouses)/rail locations.
- Dispatches drivers at the start of each shift, ensuring that each driver has the correct instructions and documentation for most efficient equipment utilization.
- Provides driver and customer support via incoming phone calls/email/texts. Effectively manages exceptions and swift problem resolution to ensure maximum margin/time savings.
- Maintains records, driver daily record of driver activity, a record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses. Identifies and communicates possible inefficiencies and contributes ideas for resolution.
- Determines market rates and audits dispatching activities weekly against Sales folders. Ensures correct costs are being approved for each folder. Confirms any variances with Accounting. Guarantees consistent/increasing margin.
- Analyzes route/lane selections to improve customer service and margin returns.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (2-year Undergraduate preferred)
Experience:
- 2 years of office work experience required. 2 years drayage dispatch experience preferred
Skills:
- English (Spanish a plus), Proficient in all Microsoft products
