Overview: New hires will begin the Inside Sales Engineer onboarding process, and upon completion will be given the designation of Inside Sales Engineer I. During their onboarding phase, they receive comprehensive foundational training, gaining a thorough understanding of the company's processes, products, and services, as well as the nuclear industry. As they progress, they take on responsibilities and begin to work independently on daily tasks, while still receiving guidance and oversight from their direct supervisor and peer mentors.
Responsibilities:
Read and understand client RFQs to determine technical and quality requirements.
Process RFQs and provide accurate proposals to clients in a timely manner.
Conduct research to ensure proposals meet the client's technical and quality requirements.
Contact suppliers for quotes to develop comprehensive proposals.
Maintain quote files and information per procedures.
Interface with engineering, production, project management, quality, and other departments as required.
Proofread quote materials for completeness and accuracy prior to sending to clients.
Respond to client phone calls and emails in a timely manner.
Assist with order entry and other sales-related functions as necessary.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, including communicating information related to price and schedule on current
projects.
Proactively communicate to effectively establish and manage expectations with clients, suppliers, and internal contacts.
Assist Regional Sales Managers with client interface and support.
Develop and communicate pricing and schedule changes for Scope Changes that effect projects that are already in-house, including expedite and cancellation fees within their limits of authority and with the assistance of the Inside Sales Manager as needed.
Supervision:
Work is reviewed by the direct supervisor or peer mentor to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards. Paragon's established Limits of Authority will also trigger further reviews and approvals depending on the value and scope of the proposal.
Execution:
Demonstrates the ability to comprehend and process customer RFQs into complete proposals, with oversight.
Monitors and supports the completion of quote-related tasks within expected time frames to meet client needs.
Seeks assistance when encountering problems during work.
Focuses on learning Paragon procedures, Inside Sales best practices, industry knowledge, product knowledge, and services
knowledge.
Works on honing attention to detail and developing effective time management skills.
Develops a proactive approach to communication.
Influence:
Develops clean and thorough proposals to set the organization up for success when executing contracts.
Collaborates with supervisors and peer mentors to gain knowledge.
Begins to build an internal and external network, becoming more present within the organization and with suppliers and clients.
Represents the Inside Sales team effectively to others in the company.
Limits of Authority:
Onboarding: N/A. All work product is reviewed by their direct supervisor or peer mentor.
Inside Sales Engineer I: Self-approval quote authority for routine proposals (e.g. dedication and/or mild environmental seismic qualification, standard repairs, etc.) up to $50k in total value.
