Description: HTI is seeking an experienced Process Technician to join a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer in Duncan, SC. This role focuses on monitoring production efficiency, ensuring proper press and tooling operation, and supporting technical development across shifts. This position is Direct Hire, M-F 2 nd or 3 rd shift. The pay range is $32 - $36 depending on experience (Shift differential: $1.25 for 2nd, $1.00 for 3rd).

What You Need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years of prior processing or technical experience
  • Technical training preferred
  • Hands-on experience with molding processes, press operation, and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to train and mentor team members and apprentices


What Your Role Will Look Like:

The Process Technician will be responsible for supporting and improving production processes by tracking performance, completing changeover procedures, identifying root causes of downtime, and mentoring other technical staff.

  • Monitor scrap rates across assigned zones
  • Complete mold change start-up documentation and First Piece Approval forms
  • Monitor and verify actual cycle times and press efficiency
  • Maintain and update Process Parameter Sheets (in coordination with Engineering)
  • Assist with mold and material changes alongside technical team members
  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of process issues (Press / Robot / EOAT) and relay to Engineering
  • Enter detailed shift issues into logbooks and ensure proper pass-down communication
  • Maintain machine cleanliness (including purging, cleaning parts/runners, etc.)
  • Document downtime using appropriate TIG codes and notify relevant personnel
  • Clean tooling in assigned area each shift
  • Adhere to and model appropriate break times and shift routines
  • Train and mentor technical team members and apprentices on press/tool procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
