Key Responsibilities
Precision Operation: Maneuver commercial frontload vehicles into high-traffic and minimum-clearance areas, utilizing advanced mirror techniques and spatial awareness to back up and position equipment safely.
Route Management: Execute assigned commercial/multi-family routes efficiently using GPS and key maps, ensuring 100% fulfillment of customer contracts.
Physical Execution: Access container enclosures and manually maneuver 3-4 yard containers on castors into position for mechanical dumping.
Safety & Compliance: Conduct rigorous pre- and post-trip inspections (DVIR). Adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety standards, and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
Environmental Stewardship: Monitor the dumping process to prevent debris spillage; ensure customer sites are left clean and safe by clearing any loose trash.
Professional Communication: Act as a brand ambassador, courteously interacting with the public and customers while proactively reporting route issues to dispatch or management.
Licensure: Must possess a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of commercial driving experience OR a certificate of completion from an accredited CDL school.
Safety Record: Ability to pass all pre-employment screenings, including DOT drug tests and a background check, meeting criteria for "safety-sensitive" functions.
Technical Skill: Demonstrated ability to operate heavy hydraulic equipment and navigate commercial-grade vehicles.
Hazard Awareness: High-level ability to identify unacceptable materials (hazardous, flammable, or toxic waste) at the point of collection.
Physical Stamina: Ability to repetitively lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs and occasionally move wheeled containers weighing up to 300 lbs.
Navigation: Proficiency in reading maps and using digital routing software.
Adaptability: A commitment to continuous improvement and the flexibility to adjust to route changes or weather-related challenges.
This is a physically demanding outdoor role requiring focus in high-activity environments.
Physical: Sitting (75% of shift), standing, walking, and frequent climbing in/out of the truck cab and onto the vehicle to secure loads.
Vision/Senses: Requires excellent depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to detect equipment issues through sound or smell.
Conditions: 100% outdoor exposure. You will work in all weather conditions (rain, snow, heat) and in high-traffic areas with significant noise and vibration levels.
