Position Description

The Field Service Mechanic will provide service to construction equipment for both shop and field-based equipment. Maintenance services will be provided for equipment such as passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows, and excavators in the utility construction industry. The mechanic will respond via Company provided truck to field maintenance needs. A typical work week would be Monday - Friday. Pay would be based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Uphold ElectriCom's safety commitment in all actions and as a foremost way of thinking.
2. Maintain and repair passenger trucks, directional drills, cable plows and excavators.
3. Determine overall condition of machines through inspections.
4. Diagnose issues with hydraulic and electrical systems.
5. Replace required components to restore equipment to working order.
6. Exhibit positive and effective interaction with other ElectriCom employees, vendors, and customers.
7. Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and other work.
8. Routine Training as assigned (LMS, OSHA-10 hour, etc.).

Position Requirements

1. 5+ years of experience in diesel engine and hydraulics (experience could be substituted for schooling)
2. Graduate of a Trade School in diesel mechanics preferred (schooling could be substituted for experience)
3. Candidate will provide their own tools
4. Must have valid driver license, CDL is a plus
5. Must pass a background check and have a good driving record.
6. Must be able to comprehend, complete, and forward daily activity report logs electronically.
7. Must have the ability to read, write & interpret documents such as safety rules, operation & maintenance instructions, and service, parts, and procedure manuals in English.
8. Excellent time-management skills.
