Position Overview
BBOSS is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing fiber optic team as a Fiber Technician Trainee. No prior fiber optic experience is required. We are willing to train hardworking, dependable individuals who are eager to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in the telecommunications industry.
This position involves outdoor work, travel, hands-on training, and the opportunity to advance into fiber splicing and testing roles.
What You'll Learn
- Fiber optic installation
- Fiber splicing fundamentals
- Fiber testing procedures
- Telecommunications construction practices
- Safety procedures and jobsite operations
- Utility and right-of-way work
- Equipment and tool operation
Responsibilities
- Assist fiber technicians and splicers in the field
- Help prepare and organize job sites
- Handle and install fiber optic cable
- Assist with fiber testing and troubleshooting
- Maintain company tools and equipment
- Follow all safety requirements
- Travel to project locations as needed
- Complete assigned tasks and production goals
Qualifications
- No experience required
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Willingness to travel
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
