Equipment Engineer

Our client, a leading organization in the automotive and manufacturing industry, is seeking a Equipment Engineer to join their team. As a Equipment Engineer, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting the vehicle service and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Equipment Engineer - Service

Location: Hayward, CA

Pay Range: $65/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

  • Develop and implement automotive assembly equipment and tools
  • Identify tooling and equipment design opportunities by collaborating with cross-functional teams on process improvements
  • Evaluate part and assembly designs for manufacturability, ergonomics, and maintenance feasibility
  • Lead hands-on design and prototyping of equipment using CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD
  • Manage manufacturing partners and work with equipment suppliers to resolve ergonomic and assembly issues

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a similar role within product design and manufacturing environments
  • Experience with developing automation specifications, tooling, fixtures, and industrial manipulators
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SAP is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and present cost analysis of new processes and equipment
