Position Overview
Environmental Engineer leads and supports the environmental compliance programs and related operational excellence activities. The Environmental Engineer will be part of the onsite Environmental Team, reporting to the Environmental Manager.
Responsibilities???Maintain compliance with the facility's NPDES wastewater permit and industrial stormwater permit (SWPPP). Oversee operation of the wastewater treatment system and the package treatment plant. Oversee operation of the Wastewater Laboratory. Provide compliance support for the solid waste, hazardous waste, and SPCC programs. Conduct employee environmental awareness training. Perform routine environmental site inspections. Develop and implement various sustainability and facility improvement initiatives.
Qualifications???B.S. or higher in Engineering, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Experience operating an industrial or municipal wastewater treatment system. Experience in a laboratory environment. Experience with environmental regulations (NPDES, SWPPP, SPCC, RCRA, SARA). Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to organize, interpret, and report data and information accurately. Strong team player who can effectively work with others to meet objectives.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:Licensed wastewater treatment operator, licensed solid waste facility operator, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
