Electrical Estimator

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for industrial, infrastructure, commercial, and institutional electrical construction projects. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, managing the bidding process, mentoring estimating staff, and supporting business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical estimating experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with operations, project management, vendors, and clients to secure profitable work. Essential Duties:
??? Prepare complete, accurate, and competitive electrical estimates for projects of varying size and complexity
??? Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to identify scope, risks, and pricing requirements
??? Perform quantity takeoffs, labor calculations, material pricing, and subcontractor evaluations
??? Manage the bid process from opportunity identification through proposal submission
??? Develop and maintain estimating databases, assemblies, labor units, and historical cost information
??? Review and validate estimates prepared by junior estimators to ensure accuracy and completeness
??? Collaborate with project management and operations teams during project turnover and preconstruction planning
??? Assist with value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost-saving recommendations
??? Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and industry partners
??? Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations as required
??? Track bid results and market trends to improve estimating accuracy and win rates
??? Support recruiting, training, and development of estimating personnel

Requirements/Skills:
??? Minimum 7+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial, industrial, institutional, or infrastructure construction
??? Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, materials, and labor productivity standards
??? Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents
??? Experience preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and proposals
??? Proficiency with estimating software, takeoff software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and related construction technology platforms
??? Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations
??? Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
??? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
??? Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
??? Experience mentoring junior estimators and working collaboratively with project teams preferred
??? Electrical construction field experience, estimating certifications, or related technical education preferred

Physical Requirements:
??? Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
??? Ability to review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents in both digital and printed formats
??? Occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and pre-bid walkthroughs
??? Ability to climb stairs, walk construction sites, and navigate uneven terrain when conducting site visits
??? Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
??? Ability to communicate effectively in office and field environments
